Parallel Computing Engineer - Remote

Pay: $10.5/hr (USD) + weekly bonus of $500–$1000 for completing 5 tasks Hours: Part-time (20–30 hrs/week), flexible schedule Application Deadline: Sept 23, 2025

About the Role

This is a remote contract role for a Parallel Computing Engineer. You will be working on behalf of a leading AI lab via Mercor.

Responsibilities

  • Speeding up numeric and simulation kernels through GPU/CPU parallelism
  • Optimizing workloads (memory hierarchy tuning, reducing communication overhead)
  • Scaling computations with MPI, NCCL, Slurm on distributed clusters
  • Profiling and benchmarking with nvprof / nsys
  • Building reproducible HPC workflows in Python (NumPy, SciPy)
  • Collaborating with researchers to integrate HPC into production AI systems

Requirements

  • Experience with:
    • CUDA and OpenMP
    • Distributed execution (MPI, NCCL, Slurm)
    • Profiling GPU/CPU workloads
    • HPC concepts like memory hierarchy, scalability, communication cost
