Parallel Computing Engineer - Remote
Pay: $10.5/hr (USD) + weekly bonus of $500–$1000 for completing 5 tasks Hours: Part-time (20–30 hrs/week), flexible schedule Application Deadline: Sept 23, 2025
About the Role
This is a remote contract role for a Parallel Computing Engineer. You will be working on behalf of a leading AI lab via Mercor.
Responsibilities
- Speeding up numeric and simulation kernels through GPU/CPU parallelism
- Optimizing workloads (memory hierarchy tuning, reducing communication overhead)
- Scaling computations with MPI, NCCL, Slurm on distributed clusters
- Profiling and benchmarking with nvprof / nsys
- Building reproducible HPC workflows in Python (NumPy, SciPy)
- Collaborating with researchers to integrate HPC into production AI systems
Requirements
- Experience with:
- CUDA and OpenMP
- Distributed execution (MPI, NCCL, Slurm)
- Profiling GPU/CPU workloads
- HPC concepts like memory hierarchy, scalability, communication cost
