About the Work
The work combines traditional remote IT support with occasional technical research, scripting, and basic coding-related tasks. Someone with a help-desk or IT-support background who also enjoys working with code would be a particularly good fit.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot common Windows, software, browser, account, and networking issues
- Assist with software installation, configuration, and documentation
- Research technical problems and identify practical solutions
- Work with basic scripts, code snippets, APIs, or command-line tools
- Provide clear written updates on completed tasks and issues
- Handle general remote IT support as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience with IT support, help desk, systems administration, technical support, or a similar role
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language is required
- Examples include Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, Bash, PowerShell, PHP, Go, or similar
- You do not need to be a full-time software developer, but you should be comfortable reading, understanding, and making basic changes to code or scripts
- Strong troubleshooting and online research skills
- Good written English
- Reliable internet connection and dependable communication
