About Proxima Fusion

We're building the world's first commercial stellarator fusion power plant. We are the first spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, based on Wendelstein 7-X (the largest stellarator ever built). We have raised over €650M and have teams based in Munich, Zurich, and Oxford.

About the Role

Finding a good stellarator design means searching an enormous high-dimensional space, and every candidate design needs heavy plasma physics simulation. This role owns that compute problem, including:

  • Cloud & HPC clusters
  • K8s, Ray, and Dask
  • Platform engineering: CI/CD, IaC, and observability

You will sit directly next to the physicists and AI researchers burning through that compute, allowing you to see exactly what your infrastructure unlocks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python and Linux.
  • Strong background in platform engineering.
  • A desire to apply your skills toward clean, abundant energy.

Interview Process

  1. Recruiter call
  2. Technical screen
  3. Technical panel
  4. CEO call
