About the Role
This is a paid, project-based role, with assignments varying in length depending on client needs.
Location: Remote
Compensation: Paid per project, ranging from $100 to $1,000.
Employment Type: Independent contractor / freelance
Ideal for analytical thinkers with backgrounds in business, consulting, operations, journalism, engineering, software, data, technical products, or research in general.
Typical Tasks:
- Market and industry scans
- Competitor mapping
- Product comparisons
- Light user research, surveys, and polling
- Summaries and insights
- Structuring findings into clear briefs
- Deep dives into SaaS and AI tools
- Reviewing product documentation, APIs, integrations, and workflows
- Mapping system operations end to end
- Producing structured technical analysis
- Supporting validation tasks for client projects
Requirements
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to find, verify, and synthesize information quickly
- Excellent written communication in English
- High attention to detail
- Experience in research, consulting, competitive intelligence, product analysis, or technical analysis
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in consulting clubs, research groups, student journalism, or consulting firms like Accenture/EY/IBM
- Interest in SaaS, AI tools, and emerging technologies
- Familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Claude
