About the Role

We are a small, student-led film team based in New York City, primarily composed of NYU Dramatic Writing students. We are in post-production on a mixed-medium short film titled The Intercessor, which blends live action, animation, and claymation.

We are seeking an artist to create seven illustrated background environments for our animated characters.

Visual Style

We are inspired by the tone and style of The Triplets of Belleville:

Stylized
Expressive
Slightly surreal environments with personality and atmosphere
Textured and alive, not glossy commercial art

Timeline

We aim to have the backgrounds completed within the next 4 to 6 weeks, with the goal of finishing the film by May.

Compensation

$500 total budget for the background work.
Full credit as part of the core team.
